About Patalenitza

Traditions and presence

The kindergarten building

The population of Patalenitza has kept part of their past heritage, but people are trying to keep up with the time. In 2003 street lightning was provided with new energy-saving lamps. The village is supplied with water. There is no sewerage. Nearly all streets have asphalt. There is a good bus transport system to Pazardjik. In one building you can find a medical care centre, a chemist and a library. In the Town hall building there is a post office. At the road fork between the villages of Vetrendol and Lyahovo there is a petrol station.
In the local school a high-speed Internet has been installed, which is very useful for young people.
The unique children’s Shakespearean drama school "Petrovden" performs shows every summer. There is a kindergarten with a

central heating.
Even more people receive the Internet in their homes. Beautiful buildings are being built. The villagers realize that they can make their living by doing traditional work as well as to develop the modern so-called alternative tourism.
You can come to our village in summer or winter. Although Patalenitza is a peaceful place, it could be noisy and funny. It usually happens on St Peter’s day, when there is the fair in "St Peter and Pavel" Monastery, on St Pantaleymon’s day - the fair of Patalenitza and especially on St George’s day. Roasting lambs is an attraction that makes a lot of people come here.
